Regional Arts Victoria (RAV) have developed great expertise  in providing workshops, performances and arts experiences for children and young people in Victoria - over the last 40 years. Currently RAV and SFS have a wonderful joint promotion for Victorian schools - a free show, no matter where you are. Details below under Victoria.

From a teacher who just saw Possum Magic in Sydney - "I thought the show was absolutely fantastic! The students have not stopped talking about it, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The clear favourite was the dancing snake! I particularly liked how the students were actively involved during the performance (e.g. getting up to do the 'Billabong Bounce'). NATIONAL TOURS

On tour now - SUNDOWNER, by Kage, deals with Alzheimers. Great mix of physical theatre, dance and drama. Check out our interview with them.

The very cool 360 ALLSTARS - hot young music, freestyling, beatboxing, breakdancing, bmx and basketball skills - show and workshops - check out where they're on in Vic, WA and QLD. Saw them myself the other day - all the audience, including me. loved it! Ed.

Possum Magic now on tour! Have looked for the antidote in Melbourne and Canberra so far. In Sydney this week.

CDP and Tall Stories follow up to The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child -  ROOM ON THE BROOM also flies around the country in 2013...

VICTORIA

Just announced. Great opportunity for every school in the state - through a partnership between shows for schools and Regional Arts Victoria. A Victorian teacher subscriber will be drawn on June 18 . They can then select any one of  4 different RAV productions to perform FREE in their school- no matter if it's in Corryong or Portland or anywhere in between! Not a subscriber!! Go here 

MELBOURNE MAGIC FESTIVAL takes over Northcote Town Hall during the July school holidays. Shows and workshops to entertain you and your kids.

Want the perfect end of term excursion? Go and see NICA's ONE FALSE MOVE - breathtaking world class circus, always beautifully produced. At last a schools matinee at 1pm! On June 27. 

Here's one for history/music/drama, and it's fun. Adapted from the books by a UK company, Horrible Histories-Awful Eygptians on in July in Melbourne - cheaper prices for school groups.

Another international production has found us - Atomik Circus from New Caledonia Circus School. Performing at Gasworks Arts Park. Sounds good. And of course the beauty of physical performance is the language is universal.  On in June.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Just announced. Extra performances on offer for Adelaide schools of Possum Magic - on it's Final Farewell Tour playing the Norwood Concert Hall in July.

Adelaide Symphony Orchestra have a really cool education program for 2013. Check out their version of Roald Dahl's Little Red RIding Hood as well!

TASMANIA

Lucky people around Launceston have some great shows to see this year through Theatre North.
