Pantalone's Inn: A Traditional Commedia dell'Arte Show

Make A Scene

Pantalone's Pantalone's Pantalone's

Pantalone's Inn is a well structured and very entertaining Commedia dell'Arte narrative with a strong framework that can be varied and adapted for Theatre-In-Education purposes for Primary School Italian students to VCE Drama Students.
Suzanne Sandow (Stage Whispers)

The performance was truly one of the best we have seen. Make a Scene's professionalism and attention to detail were superb and it was thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff.
Christine O'Brien, Christ Church Grammar, Toorak

Pantalone's Inn is a hilariously entertaining performance based on the Italian Comedy of the 16th Century, Commedia dell'Arte. This performance is in English (with some Italian) and features the traditional masked characters of the commedia. Audiences will be transported to the Italian city of Bologna, the home of Bolognese sauce! Laugh-out-loud at loads of silly slapstick, misunderstands and bad wigs!

Presenters Rosa Campagnaro and Fabio Motta have both trained in Commedia dell'Arte in Italy at the Accademia Teatrale Veneta (formerly know as Venezia InScena). Rosa has also studied with with Antonio Fava and trained in Jacques Lecoq Technique with Norman Taylor at the Movement Theater Studio in New York in 2011. Rosa and Fabio created the original commedia shows, 'Pantalone's Inn' and 'Arlecchino and La Principessa (The Lovers)' which have toured Victorian schools for the past four years.

The performance was sensational. It is appropriate for Primary to VCE. It was one of the most entertaining pieces I have ever seen. Excellent audience participation, energy and brilliant fun. Thank you so much for bringing this art form alive.
Bianca Kawalec (Mount Scopus Memorial College)

Both performers make clear sense of the traditions of Commedia dell'Arte by expressing them with infectious vitality in sparkling performance. They have the confidence, flexibility and wit to improvise with impressive spontaneity and abundant humour.
Suzanne Sandow (Stage Whispers)

A most engaging, high energy performance. It made me feel like a child again!Caroline Graley (Padua College, Rosebud) The kids were engaged from beginning to end.
Craig Wiltshire, Glen Waverley SC, March 2012

I come from Naples, the Commedia city, famous for Eduardo De Filippo who played Pulcinella. I can truly say that you have entered into the spirit of this art. The mix between Italian and English was really well done! I enjoyed your show a lot.
Michela Genovese (Language Assistant, Salesian College, Rupertswood)
