Commedia Clowning (VIC)

Commedia

"The show was great and the students and teachers enjoyed it immensely. We are hoping to book another one next year!"

Commedia dell’arte began in the 16th century in Italy and its mask theatre became the basis for modern day comedy and clowning! This solo show introduces the audience to well-known historic Commedia characters such as Pantalone, the grumpy mayor, and the know-it-all il Dottore. Using music, mime, magic and mayhem, it is presented as a clowning show full of energy, fun and silliness!

This show goes into detail on the masks themselves, the characterisation of the commedia characters, as well as encouraging audience participation and circus skills. It is a show that can be enjoyed by all ages!
