Dätiwuy Dreaming; creation stories from Northeast Arnhem Land

Musica Viva In Schools

Dätiwuy Dätiwuy

"...our performance had everything to fantastically engage everyone in the room."
Trevor Adams - Trinity Grammar School

Over thousands of years, the Yolngu people from Elcho Island in Northeast Arnhem Land have maintained a rich culture that continues to thrive today. They have been making music and sharing stories longer than almost anyone else. They are also among the very first masters of the yidaki (didgeridoo). This is a rare opportunity for a glimpse of Yolngu culture in your school. Dätiwuy Dreaming present an engaging performance that tells their stories through traditional song and dance. Students will be entertained and mesmerised.
