“There is every chance that this production, like others before it, will tour Australia and the world, and it deserves to. It is a Slingsby production, and that means it is suitable for the entire family, so head in for a magical tale, beautifully told.
CANBERRA CRITICS CIRCLE

A naïve young boy is plucked from obscurity and made King. With treasures and privileges laid at this feet and the costs to be counted to others, this immersive performance for the young and the young at heart asks the question: what kind of King would you be?

This tender tale by Oscar Wilde ha been beautifully brought to life by acclaimed Adelaide theatre company Slingsby. Through traditional storytelling, unique and inventive stagecraft, puppetry and live music, The Young King invites children to journey in wonder to a land of challenging choices and rich rewards.
