“Happy Being Me!” is a fun and interactive performance all about fitting in and discovering your own amazing skills and qualities. Magnifico the Magician has run a successful, traditional show for a long time, but his performers want to try new acts and learn new skills that excite them. Whiskers the Rabbit wants to perform a Crazy Carrot act. Toppy the Magic Hat wants to be a dancer. The King of Hearts Card wants to make people laugh. We also meet a silly Magic Wand who learns that being a good friend also means being a good listener, and we see a story about a bird with an unusual skill that makes it hard for him to fit in with others.
Using role-play, fun characters and interactive stories with music, "Happy Being Me!" is the perfect introduction for students to the ideas of self-esteem, development of personal skills, interpersonal relationships, and tolerance. It is also ideal for Prep-Year Three students as an aid to their reading experience, and the ways in which they relate to literature and the world around them. The performance encourages participation in drama and promotes reading.
