Join children's presenter, Julie Zommers, for a highly engaging 90 minute hands-on workshop where students become designers, builders and creators, as they construct their own imaginative treehouses.
With over 35 years' experience working with children and more than 2,000 workshops presented, Julie guides students through simple construction techniques using tape, glue and air-dried clay. Children are shown inspiring examples of treehouses created by other young builders and introduced to a range of creative ideas to spark their imagination.
Then they unleash their creativity.
Students can choose to work independently or collaborate in small groups as they design, build and decorate their creations using a plethora of resources. Along the way, they develop creativity, problem-solving skills, design thinking and teamwork in a relaxed and supportive environment.
There is no right or wrong way to create a treehouse, allowing every child to experience success while expressing their own unique ideas.
The workshop concludes with a gallery walk where students admire each other's work, share ideas and celebrate their achievements. The kids love this workshop.
