We are proud to be partnering with an organisation that brings quality educational productions into Primary Schools, exploring the CBCA Children's Book Week themes and promoting literature and the joy of reading in an interactive, fun and engagingCBCA CHAIR, Wendy Rapee, AALIA (CP).
The students enjoyed the intimate nature of watching the performance in their own classroom spaces and were more inclined to join in the singing and dancing with minimal embarrassment and awkwardness.Brunswick North Primary School
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Professor Perkins was a very clever and kind old man who had lived a good and productive life and was happy except for one thing – he wished he had a child of his own to love and care for. Using his latest technology, he creates a little digital girl – Daisy – to be his daughter and become part of his family. It seems like a perfect solution and the answer to his wishes, except it soon becomes apparent that, despite the fact she looked like and behaved much like any other child, there was something missing. Leaving Professor Perkins to work on their problem, Daisy heads off on an adventure to try and discover what might be needed for her to become areal person. Could the answer be found not in refining technology but allowing a bug to attach itself to Daisy’s programming? Maybe rather than looking at a screen, it is engaging with actual books that will lead them both into a happily ever after.
Echoing the classic tale of Pinocchio, The Tale of Digital Daisy explores what may be lost when people become immersed in the virtual world while missing out on real connections and experiences.
Full of humour, loveable characters, great songs and audience interaction, the CBCA Book Week in Schools 2027 adventure celebrates the 2027 CBCA Book Week Theme (Catch the Reading Bug) and brings to life a selection of wonderful 2027 CBCA Shortlisted books, while exploring themes of literacy, imagination, empathy, belonging and digital wellbeing.
The livestream event is hosted by your personal Actor/Educator interacting and discussing live-in-real-time with your students and classrooms, as they introduce the filmed educational theatre episodes of the exciting CBCA Book Week adventure. The livestream lesson includes interactive segments for students to answer quizzes connected to the learning points, have guided discussions on the educational themes and ask questions in real time!
Your students will discover that the greatest adventures are often found not on a screen, but within the pages of a great book!

OUR SHOWS ARE WATCHED BY 250,000 STUDENTS ACROSS AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND EVERY YEAR!
The students were engaged in everything that they saw, the actors and the story. They absolutely loved being able to hear the responses that we sent during the show and really enjoyed the dance moves and music.Blandford Public School
It was really valuable to have differing performances for the different age groups. The students were very engaged & sang & danced. Messages & themes behind the production extended beyond the love of books & linked beautifully with the student attitudes.St Agatha's Catholic Primary School
We loved the virtual [livestream] incursion. We are a tiny rural school and can not always afford to have a cast and crew come out so this was a great option for us. The Q&A was excellent. Thank you.Chillingham Public School
The teachers loved the flexibility of when to schedule their own show working around their timetables. The support materials were amazing - you left nothing to chance covering so many aspects in great detail to ensure everyone got the most out of it.Brunswick North Primary School
