PYT Fairfield

Diversity and culture are the new normal of contemporary Australia; however, our representation of culture and women varies according to media, society and institutions.
Students can:
• ENJOY seeing women close to their age, talking about experiences they can empathise and be empowered by.
• ENGAGE in challenging the dominant narrative of mainstream media around representation and who is in power of the way we talk about young people.
• RESPOND to the use of Dance Theatre as a medium and style. Students can explore how to incorporate dance into theatrical works to enhance their message.

• An Education Resource Kit is available for this performance.
• There is a Post-Show Q&A after the performance.
• There is a Workshop available after the performance. The workshop is free (with a ticket to the performance).

About the Workshop:
Making PLAYLIST: How PYT makes new Australian Work.
After the performance, students can participate in a workshop, Making PLAYLIST: How PYT makes new Australian Work. Working to develop text, dance moves and engaging in PYT's unique conversational practice, the students will make their very own mini-version of Playlist, led by the cast and creatives of the performance. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the performance and their own responses to identity, intersectional feminism, and female empowerment in contemporary Australia; these conversations evolve into a dance theatre presentation.
Runs from 1.50pm - 3pm in Cube 37.
No prior skills necessary.
For ages 14+.
