The wait is over, Australasian Dance Collective's THREE is back on stage with THREE highly anticipated Australian premieres from renowned choreographers Jack Lister, Melanie Lane and Hofesh Shechter.

Brisbane’s own rising star of the choreographic world, Jack Lister, fuses dance and visual art to create a stunning mainstage performance, Still Life.

Inspired by the artworks of the 16th and 17th century Memento Mori movement, it serves as a touchstone of our own mortality, the beauty in decay and our relationship with time.

Still Life embraces the dichotomy of the permanence of visual artworks against the impermanent nature of dance, creating a world of poignant conflict – time passes but memories endure.

Melanie Lane is one of Australia’s strongest female choreographic voices, her works seamlessly blending elegance with edgy physicality.

In Alterum, she takes us on a journey to a universe that is beyond our natural world, drawing on the themes of the supernatural body - seen in history through mythological hybrid creatures or in today’s hyper-real superheroes of science fiction and pop culture - to reflect upon the human body and its search for intimacy.

Lane has been joined by long-term musical collaborator, Clark, to create this sexy and cool parallel existence that is both urgent and obscure.

Queensland finally gets its chance to experience international superstar and dance revolutionary, Hofesh Shechter.

Presented in association with Hofesh Shechter Company, ADC unveils the Australian premiere of Cult — the work that propelled Shechter into his globally-renowned career.

Instinctive and raw, it is a powerful illustration of his unique and acclaimed choreography and is the first time the London-based choreographer’s work has been performed in Queensland.

INSIGHT MATINEE PERFORMANCE – THURSDAY 27 MAY (1PM):

Please note this performance is a special Insight Matinee where audiences will be treated to a pre-show talk with Artistic Director, Amy Hollingsworth, discussing the creative process behind these three very different dance works, as well as the technical and staging elements.

Audiences will then get to see all three incredible works and experience a “live changeover” between the last two works. Hollingsworth will answer audience questions while the set and staging is transformed in front of their eyes. A rare and exclusive opportunity to see what really goes on “behind the curtain”.

The duration of this Insight Matinee performance is 1 hour 50 minutes.

School group bookings also go in the running to win a personalised workshop for their school with a company dancer.

POST SHOW Q&A SESSIONS WITH CAST AND CREATIVES WILL ALSO BE HELD AFTER 7.30PM THURSDAY, 27 MAY AND 2PM SATURDAY, 29 MAY PERFORMANCE.
